Default Anyone else running a non rs turbo loom in their efi/cossie managed rst?? help please

As i didnt want to go cutting up my rs turbo loom to get rid of unwanted plugs in engine bay i got hold of a loom from a 1.6 cvh ghia escort. Got it out of this car as it had a rev counter and electric windows etc.

Anyway, few things have puzzled me....

-the oil pressure plug that goes on back of the block, on a rs turbo loom it comesout of the main loom by the heater box but on this one it comesout in a sub loom which has wiring for the distributor and plugs into main loom right down the front by the rad.

- fuel pump, has just one round plug on end, im wondering if i should cut this off then just wire to my wires that are coming into the car.

-brake fluid reservoir has wrong sort of plug, no biggy issue i'll just cut off my plug from rs turbo loom but this and above has made me wonder if i got right sort of loom for what i need.

Just wondered if anyone else has come across this experience

Yeah i was going to mate but mines had more cuts/repairs than anything ever and good thing about looms from cars like normal escorts are they havent had aftermarket alarms or gauges cut into them. On this one i even got the wiring going up the A pillar to the clock etc. Doesnt have heated front screen in the loom though but guess i could cut that out my old loom if i was bothered about that, which im not as wouldnt use the car in winter anyway.

Had another look at the loom i got hold of, am confused by fuel pump wiring as has 3 brown wires going into the round plug and nothing else, guessing for a non rs turbo fuel pump.

Any ideas how i can get around this?

Yes it is cossie management. I wondered what happens about fuel levels etc then or do i need to run wiring for this to? Or does the cossie loom joining to the wire of the dials plug sort all this out?

Ah yeah, i'll have to get hold of a ghia loom diagram then to see what the wires do on it as i dunno where the plug would go which the 3 brown wires go into.

could they be to the fuel level sender?
are you sure the car it came off actually had an electric pump and not the mechanical pump on the engine as this would explain the lack of wires but as mentioned above your fuel pump can be wired to the cossie loom anyway

Botters- im not sure but thats a good point. All i know is the car it come off was a 1.6 ghia which had a carb on it and was a cvh engine, that would probably explain the lack of fuel pump wiring then and like you said maybe the 3 wires with plug go to the tank then and are the fuel level. That would make perfect sense.

Cheers mate,
