i have converted a s1 escort cabriolet to fiesta rs turbo efi ofac with the efi loom runs amazing only thing is it wont rev past 3000 revs help

 

anyone plz help

 

a lot of the usual people with the answers are prob at central day

 

im not going thats why im asking for help

 

what he means is the people who would normally answer your questions are proberly at central day hence not replying on the computer

 

 

does it pop or miss or just wont rev past 3k, have you checked that all the plugs are on properly and tight

 

sometimes pops but just wont rev past 3k checked everything

 

maybe a duff coil pack

 

when runnig un plug your map senser and c if the engine note changes,does it smoke at all or anything,also what breather are you running as the fiesta runs with the little one way valve in is the valve the right way round

 

another point is how are you measuring the engine revs?

s1 or 3i rev counter will only read half iirc as ofac/ofab's wasted spark

 

im using xr3i efi clocks

with the map sensor off the engine sounds the same i think but when rev trys to cut out doesnt smoke and the breather im using is a fiesta rs turbo and its all fine

 

when i dis-connect my map senser the engine note changes and it sounds like its trying to cut out,have you checked the one way valve on the breather too,also can you hear your turbo winding up at all as your exhaust might be slight blocked

 

turbo has been set to no boost at the moment can it be the cps ?

 

Have you definitely got the correct OFAC map sensor? They're listed on Ebay all the time with an XR2i sensor which won't register any boost.

The XR2i ones are rectangular. A proper OFAC one is sloped on the right hand side.

Will it not rev past 3000RPM when it's out of gear? Or is it only when you are driving it?

What happens when it won't go past 3000?

 

got the right ofac sensor it wont rev past 3k on stand still dont no about driving it yet as im just finishing it
