Heard Stu Collins and Crazycage couldn't break out of the 13s today but there's a couple of FWD Fords running mid to low 12s. A mk2 Fiesta and Puma both ran VERY quick apparently.

Should be interesting to see tomorrow!

Garys car has done a 13.5 at 118, the box keeps locking out of gear. Best chance is going to be in the morning when box oil is cold. Fastest was a mk2 fiesta with 12.6 @ 116/7

 

What's the spec of the mk2 any one got any pics?

 

I was there today in my Golf diesel:

13.9 @ 102mph not bad for a 1.4 ton car

 

Bobby i remember been impressed with the graph but thAt time for a diesel is a proper result. Is there any room for improvement on that time?

 

Fiesta is a 2.1 zetec turbo it ran 12.6 @116!

I guess the only the way to improve is more power, less weight etc
But I'm pleased with getting into the 13's

 

Bit of mapping last night as the map was rough as and Garys has just done 12.8@122. Letting box cool down at the mo.

Great result Bobby, I often wondered how your increased power would work on the road in real life, and that proves it. 5 years ago at Pod, my old Saph Cos running 300 ish bhp at the time only did 13.2 @ 100 ish. As in your Golf is as quick as my Cossie was one year Not fast for a Cossie, but still plenty quick enough in reality, and then your Golf oil burner is doing the same times near enough

Bobby I bet you could shave 0.2 off your 60ft, which could equate to upto 0.4 off your total time IMO.

hat's off the the lad's from blackpool in the puma and mk2 fezz. i tried my best but could i feck catck you . fair play and good luck bringing the time's down, just what the ford scene need's.

there was also a nice white mk6 fezz in the high12's.

Made 330bhp @ 20psi the day before still not fully mapped. Quick car. Did 12.9 @115 in full street trim, Toyo Proxes, loads of camber and full leather seats and a stereo. Fair play!

He's up for TOTB Ford team as well

My cars going to be ready for Classic Ford day on the 6th of June, Alex (mk6 owner) is hoping for 400 by then.

 

the fiesta was crazy lol ..... did any one see the mk3 escort looked abit like an xr3 and was running 12.6 time and time again, that was a bit of a sleeper aswel

Guys im really impressed with the Ford cars (FWD) running in the 12's. Things have obviously progressed.
I know Paul R and Tim were in the high 12's many years ago but that was just two cars that i knew about.

i didnt realise that is alexs car otherwise i would of come over and had a chat, iam glad to see his car is going well and i really enjoy the day , a big well done to all fwd car in the 12s and iam sure there will be a few lowering times even futher . nice to meet steveboyslim , paul johnson , dan arrowsmith , mk , gareth , luca and so many more. a big thank to steveboyslim for getting me some parts .
it was also nice to see some of my work on certain cars whether it be wiring or a nice exhaust manifold , luca's looked very nice and did the biz so i was happy and a very big well done for turning up never mind putting a decent time in and nice to meet you too

all in all a good day but i got burnt really bad lol

AJC - What's the full spec of the Fiesta? Does it even have an LSD? And what tyres?

It's a very very impressive car.

 

Quaife box, zetec turbo, efi inlet, standard cylinder head, t34, and that's it really. It's on 888's did a 13.3 on road tyres which were crap
