here is my project i started the other day
first i started with a standard mk1 escort.because im making a mk2 van i wanted it to look like the a real 1,they share the same body style with just different lights etc etc & thats wot i want to make
so here is how it started off

then got the roof cut off


side being made up

then i desided to have ago at seing if i can make the mk2 front fit the mk1 shell,ive got a mk2 escort & it does'nt need these parts in using.if i could'nt make it work i was goin to just do another mk1 van to sell but looks like ill be keepin it
bonnet trimmed to fit & mk1 shell trimmed for the front grill

then i just blue tac the bumpers on & my mexico front spoiler to see how it looked,ill be making a front spoiler as this 1 does'nt fit proper.& the mk2 dash fits aswel
i think it will look ok as it goes on

did abit more last mite.got the panles fixed on & windows cut out,was goin to have back doors like escortnutter has done,but then could'nt be arsed lol


then went & got some filler on,this is its 2nd skim of filler.

cheers lads,not to sure on a colour,defo not british racing green as i dont like it,do like yellow but my mexico is yellow so thats out the window, will see when its time to paint.

little update,got most of the filler done last night,just abit more on the roof to get the shape & abit ere & there then it should be done ish lol.

also made the front mexico stylle bib spoiler,looks more like the mk2 now once thats gone off ill get sanding that

how about signal orange? not seen many orange models
oh what brand of filler do you use? gonna get cracking with my chopped evo and looks like good stuff

cheers mate, i do like orange so mite give it ago. the filler is p38 easysand.ive always used it even on my real project,its good stuff to work with

i think what ever colour you go for keep it light.
would like to see one done in white too.
white would look nice with a set of the fading line decals we do roy.
can do the fade in any colour .

did abit more sanding tonite,the shape is there just got afew imperfections to sort out & the line were the plastic joins,then it be paint time
think it be going white as it looks nice in primer

did some on the van the other nite,i thought i would get the wheels stuck on as i always use a diff chassie just to sit the body on for pics.
i seen a mk2 estate on ebay & i thought its wheels look wicked,so my van had to be done also engine fitted.

im with you on white but maybe like a slightly off white, retro white lol
i reckon it needs a capri bonnet bulge too, and some company writing on the side lol
