Did they ever make a standard 1.1 version of the escort cabby? as ive seen one and th bloke says it is factory fitted with a 1.1 engine , here it is to show you :

Never seen a 1.1 in a mk4 before, seen 1.4 CVH in a mk5 cabbie before (i always thought that was the smallest engine ford ever put into there escort cab's)

 

Well i always seen the 1.6 engines in them so i thought 1.1 , got to be a old escort or fiesta engine swap but he claims it is factory fitted , but has a 1.6 carb engine in :S , i think sometime of its life someone changed engine to get cheaper tax/insurance

Can't say I've ever heard of a factory made 1.1, or after factory 1.1 for that matter

According to my CAP Data book for 1987-96 there was a 1.1 hatchback but only 1.6 cabs.

I thought all MK3/4 cabs were a 1.6, then in the MK5/6 you could get 1.4/1.6/1.8
