Default Who has ridden a litre sports bike? Review inside. NOW PICS PG2

Well fucking cunt flaps this is the second time i've waffled this post due to a bastard internal server error

I decided on wed that i fancied a new bike. I've had my gsxr 750 for 5.5 years now and it's 10 years old. I thought i wanted a new 750 as 1000 cc was too nuts for the road. I'd only ridden a pals gixxer thou k1 and another k4 and always had it in my head that i was better on the 750. I'm also suzuki/gsxr daft so it made sense.

Went to the showroom and organised a test ride for yesterday. Guy asked if i wanted to try anything else. I sort of fancied the gixxer thou but i really dislike the exhaust at either side so he said try the Kawasaki zx10R. Now this was known as a nutter when it first came out and has progressed to be the most powerful thou on the market at 186 bhp. Wet weight is 208Kg or so which is nuts. I said i'd try it.

Hauled my leathers out yesterday morning to find they had shrunk over winter Anyway squeezed in and off i went. I took the 750 out for a good 1.5 hrs. It was everything i expected a newer version to be. Comfortable, smaller, faster, good brakes etc. I loved it.

Got back and was apprahensive about the 10 but thought i'd give it a go. Out i went and found some open road to crack thr throttle open. FUCK ME IT'S AN ANIMAL. I thought my bike was reasonably fast having geared it down but this is a whole other world
I cant describe how straight line fast it is and it has the brakes to match. I felt so at home and actually fit really well at 6ft 4. I was worried it was track orientated and i'd be cramped. Quite the opposite. Gixxer was comfy but more arse up, leaning on wrists. Kwak is slightly less on wrists! SO i was hooked basically!

Who else has had the privelege of experiencing the 1000 cc power? It's hard to explain to non riders.
I know there are cars that can sometimes match bike acceleration stats and fair fucking play if anything gets near this bike

Anyway you can guess what i bought...

I'm surprised you bothered to be brutally honest.

It wasn't that interesting a story the first time round. The second time just made me realise how I'm still only interested in you squeezed into some leathers.

Brilliant. I felt even better on the zx than then 750 and it's already very good! I think the 750 is maybe too small a frame for me. It's the same as the 600 i think. The 10 gave me a little more room and felt great in the corners. There's one particular long left hander that i did 100 round EASY and it felt great. Love it.

As I said, not interested in bikes but watched this extremely informative review [] and it does look pretty! Are you getting the bogey green colour and will you be getting an open faced helmet like they had on CHIPS?

It's posts like this as a non-rider that make me want a bike or at least a go on a bike as a passenger

Can't really comprehend what the acceleration will be like over say a 400 brake Saff?

Snap. I've only just started looking into getting onto two wheels after ten years of driving. There's a 750 VFR tucked away in our garage which has got me curiously interested.

The notion of riding at full chat on a litre sportsbike is mindblowing.

welcome to the world of litre bikes, unless you've ridden one you carnt describe the rush of speed, the ease of overtaking,i prefer litre bikes because you can potter about on them if you want, they are so easy to ride,i had a r1 and it was the dogs,i have ridden all the 04 bikes on test and i must admit the blade was evan easer to ride, felt like a six...........

Si, it'd absolutely mince a 400bhp saff into next week. Totally utterly flatten it, even up over a ton where cars get better etc. It's honestly that fast. Remember i have a 400 bhp cossie!

Bout time you bought a Man's bike Chop

Litre's are awesome, you can lazily trundle along with the engine barely idleing or go to the other extreme and give it some welly and feel a rush you will never ever feel in a car.

I have had a good few 1000cc just sold my K3 gsxr thou before that had a zx10-r and a couple of R1s
as you say the power and acceleration is unreal BUT they are so much easier to potter around on in top gear overtaking etc is so easy its frightening

Bah! Sportsbikes aren't the logical choice in today's traffic congested, pot-holed shitty roads. You should get yourself one of these

189bhp, 208kg thats over 900BHP per ton that would be shit your pants scarey, a 400bhp escort cossy would have around 310bhp per ton. Thats a seriously quick piece of machinery

My Ducati 996 is near enough 1000cc, but only makes 115bhp at the back wheel, can't imagine how fucking ridiculous a modern 1000 is! Non bikers, basically as long as you can keep the front wheel somewhere near the road, a good sportsbike will do 100mph as fast as you can wind the throttle on!

Good choice Chop, there is a lad down road from me who has a 09 ZX10R in white. He wheelies it everywhere!

Iv got it in my head and heart that ill have a bike before the end of June.

Already been out getting prices on a R6 (first bike). Hope to eventually go up to the litre class once I have a bit more experience.

You really do not want to ride the new blade ...... It will have you beating up old grannies to get £10k double quick, I have ridden an 09 and its the worst thing I have ever done, Ive wanted 1 ever since.
