Wouldn't really class Shutter Island as a horror, but have to agree that the Descent and Dont Look Now are both very good!

i haven't seen "don't look now" so could give that a go at some point , and no it's not so much a proper horror but it is quite spooky/disturbing, and i did jump at one point quite badly

CREEP is alright I guess, not particularly scary but half decent for a British horror.

its hard to say really, its all about watching one for the first time without knowing anything about it before hand, that said the exorcist/oman was the first films i saw that was a genuine attempt at a real horror film and perhaps the first hostel, but in a different way...........
most are over hyped, teen flicks which are so predictable........imo tho...lol

Don't really do horror films but I saw the original japanese version of "the eye" called "Gin gwai". That was pretty good.

"the fly" just because the horror is you start to imagine that its you going through the transformation.

"the thing" is a classic, watched it when I was about 10 after my parents told me to not watch it. Didnt sleep for a while after that.

and as for creepy films. the original version of "the wickerman". Simply because Nick cage ruined it like all the films he's in.

i liked house on the haunted hill

didn't really get haunting in coneticut

liked event horizon

don't forget nightmare on elm street

the thing is still a classic wtf film

the ring is a good remake, but you want to see the original, ringu

there are a lot of japanese horror films that you may like if you are into that sort of thing, there are specialist magazines that cater for that sort of thing, you might find them listed in the likes of sci-fi mag or the like

lol true story, its based partially on a supposedly true story
the chances that anything in that film happened in real life are zero just like the amytville horror
it is a good movie though

i dont like horror films with gore, dont scare me atall, needs to be more of a mind sort of horror and i prefer them being at least sort of realistic.

If its too far fetched i dont like it.

Quality film!

For something disturbing try 'Henry : portrait of a serial killer' or for gruesome factor try 'House of 1000 Corpes'

Paranormal activity fucked me up 3 weeks on and I still need a night light and my bedroom door has to be locked. when I watched it one of my mates was nearly sick at the end and i was shaking.

I have seen most of the other films but Paranormal activity is so will done it makes it very believable.

not for the faint hearted!!!

I can tell you that Cabin Fever is possibly the biggest load of shit I've ever seen. Forget that one!! PMSL.

I'm not into supernatural horrors any more, but I do like a good torture/serial killer etc film and whatever others say, the Saw series take some beating IMO. Yes, the earlier ones are better, but they are all worth watching IMO. You must have seen them already though.

Try nosferatu as well, one of the first horror films made.

If you like vampire films, Day Watch and Night Watch are amongst the best imo. Don't be put off by subtitles, they're actually better than the dubbed versions imo

I hadn't read this. If I had been drinking tea at the time, as I was 5 minutes ago, you'd have owed me a new keyboard and monitor for that one.

Thought it was genuinely over-rated crap.

I've seen scarier things on ebay.
