Right lads being getting my self a CTS stage 2 box with quaife diff hoping to get it put in before central day. what oil is best or can i just get some ford stuff from work.
thanks lee
thanks lee
fully synthetic 75/90 is what cts recommend, for some reason they said to use anything as long as it wasn't mobil one lol.....used castrol in mine and never had any issues.
I put Morris oils FS75W/90in mine. Its about £30 for 5 litres and cts/gearboxman sell it.
I hope you have better luck than me. My CTS 2 is coming out and getting swapped with a standard box hopefully in time for central day. Why? Because after less than 100 miles in the car is whinning like a bitch on overrun. Bernies going to see whats gone wrong.
The diff is a treat though, you'll enjoy it

All late BC box's have the bigger bearings mate, you can tell by the 'core plug' at the end of the main shaft on the casing.
CTS just machine out the older casing to take the bigger bearings if they dont have any of the later ones.
But it isnt the bearings that fail mostly it's teeth stripping off the input shafts (hence the disclaimer on the receipt), the gearbox wil last longer with bigger bearings if it makes it to the point of bearing failure that is!
