Default detailing peeps

or whatever that fancy car washing is called, you know the ones where they charge you a couple of hundred quid to clean your car with fancy stuff

to cut a long story short, the neighbour has had his wall finished and the car is covered in cement dust which has marked the paintwork along one side, and the roof, and a bit of the bonnet

we've tried to wash it, we've tried to wax it, we've tried to polish it out and it does sort of come out after a bit of elbow grease action, but we spent 10 minutes doing the top few inches of the corner of the wing and about 3 inches of the a pillar so it's going to take ages, which i don't have, nor do i want to spend hours cleaning the car when it shouldn't have been dirty in the first place

he's offered to get it put right and, if it needs a respray then he'll sort it out on his insurance or whatever, but i want someone who can come out and look at the car and do what needs to be done if it needs more than just a quick wash over with a soapy brush

so, who does this sort of thing as a mobile type in the west london area?

there are some splatters of cement on it as well, but fortunately they were on the glass and have come off fairly easily, not so fortunate is the rest of the car

i'd take pics but it's a bit too dark

and no, i don't want to be directed to detailing world as i don't know shit on there so i'm after recommendations from people who've had this sort of thing done to their cars in the past and can offer a before and after service report so to speak

prideandperformance does some cracking work, really loves his job. www.seriesoneturbo.co.uk in the detailers section has dozens of examples of his work from lambo's to a cavalier sri H plate.

My mates dad had the same as you, he just opted to have the car mopped by a bodyshop.

yeah its a detail your after, they will wash it really well, then clay bar it to get rid of any crap on the paintwork that washing doesnt remove, then wash again and then machine polish/wax it.

Something like that

Machine polish will get the marks out as long as you cant feel them with your fingernail, if its gone through the clearcoat or deeper then im afraid it will need painting

if it can be taken out with a mop, what sort of money should he need to fork out then?
bearing in mind i want the car looking right for central day and it looks like detaling types won't get it done in that time

seen one chap who may take 2 days to do it i can't afford to take 1 day off of work let alone 2

ok, so that's a 3rd option then

that's why i want someone to be able to say "it needs that and it's going to cost £x to do it"

don't want to shock the guy next door by telling him it's going to cost £500 to detail when his wife was offering to pay me a fiver to take it down the local polish car wash

If you are just after a quick machine polish then take it to your local body shop mate, the result won't be perfect as in my experiance they tend to leave buffer trails but if you need it done in a hurry it might be worth a go

think cement has lime in it.........lime burns stuff, so maybe a chance it'll need a good cut/polish.

ok, 3g? g3? something with a g in the title seems to mop it out, but it's going to take a day to do the whole car so they are picking it up tomorrow

the neighbour, being a cunt, has decided that he isn't to blame so when the builders come round tonight we shall have words

then the docrot who lives the other side will write up a nice legal letter using some of his legal knowledge to post to the niehgbours and then the whole ccj thing will start
