Default strut top movement is this right?

hi,
needing advice again,
when stationary and steer lock to lock my strut tops like lift about 1/4" by looks of it and front of car will actually move left or right depending which way steered,is this right?
when tried steering lock to lock in my landrover only wheels moved not the front of motor,
its poly strut top mounts, cant seem to get any play anywhere on them,
without engine running near impossible to steer when stationary(felt like steering lock was on but wasnt)
thanks again guys

The castor angle on the front will mnake the car lift up as you steer, it's this angle that centres the steering wheel when driving. More castor is good for grip but makes steering heavier ie mk3/4 escort style. Love it though.

The car got PAS I take it? With the engine off, the PAS is not working, making it very hard to steer, so that's nothing to worry about.
