oakfields are about 20 mins away from me in hook hampshire they have some very serious cars there they did hold the record for most expensive car sold in this country dont know if the still do! When i went there to do a screen on a worker theres car around 10 years ago now mind they had an 037 lancia there a short wheel base 250 gto! and a rs500 black one in a bubble a real minter an xj220 and a f40 lol real nice cars

there very funny up there if u drove by u wouldent even know its there. They sell cars all over the world it just looks like a big house from the road as its all up the drive round the back and its appointment only

RS500's are just that bit more special though, so I think they're worth more. I'd sooner pay the premium to have a genuine one, than pay less to have a 3 door with the extra bits of trim, and then have to admit it's not a real RS500 when people ask me about it.
Beautiful cars but definately overpriced to the general population, I expect the sort of buyer they hope to attract are people with a fair wedge of cash who don't really worry about paying over the odds.

If i hadnt fooked about and rang the day before i would have owned that The black 500 as Max says was one i owned and retored just over 2 years ago
the blue 500 i did a lot of work on for the current owner

I dont think its the nicest example around and the provenance was not the best, I did think at the time it would have made a great donor car for a fresh build, and it would have been ideal for your caltex shell before you built it up.
Be a good racer though for the new series.

Prices of these have gone mad, even black ones are fetching silly money, surly if your spending 40k odd you would want a blue or white one and to think my dad bought a black one for 12k many years back.

I know its been reshelled and isnt a rouse built shell so thought it was worth the 20k for all the group A parts for mine

Didnt mean that to sound like black 500s arnt in the same league as the white or moonstone one just if i had that sort of money to spend (i wish) on one it would have to be white or blue, in that order just because of the rarity factor but am sure there are lots of people that prefer black.
