Default Ca18et RWD Mk4 escort

Hi guys this is my project. Ive been following a few on here and really wanted to do one of my own.

I have been driving the car for about 6 months and was going to sell it but when i didnt make much money on e-gay i thought well why not have a go.

so here we go it wont be real quick progress but im hoping to have it finished within 12 months.

The plan is to convert it rwd with sierra running gear and then use a Ca18det from a nissan 200sx so we will see what happens.

Its going to look totally standard and im not even going to paint it.Standard even down to the original bonus seats. LOL.

Here are some pics of what i have done so far.
This is a pic of the car as i bought it

Hello, Nice one I was going to fit a Ca18det/ sr20det into my rwd mk3 escort, but the cossy got the better of me .
Good engines tho and easy upgrades keep up the good work.

I recognise that Sierra, Did you have that picked up on a trailer from Penarth. Sure that was my mates brother car. I've got all the bits ready to do the same to an S2 RST.

Good luck with the project mate, will be keeping an eye on this one.

Thanks for all the comments.
Im hoping that it will surprise a few people lol.

The sierra did come from penarth they were saying that one of their mates was building a rwd mk4 so that must be you.

Ive got to get over there next week and cut the front and rear strut towers out because im going to use these and keep the original sierra dampers and dimensions. Obviously i will upgrade the dampers and springs.

Im in the brecon area mate.

Ive just managed to get myself a ca18ET so its only the 8 valve but its still a good engine and it was at a price that i could not miss so its not my original plan of the det but i will swap at a later date.

Am picking it up on wednesday so will get some pics up.

Got some more work yesterday and i also started to collect some bits.
I collected both engines and both gearboxes in the back of my mk3 escort. To say it was low would have been an understatement lol.

Its all pretty clean too loads of parts have been powder coated

That isn't a CA18det.

Its an 8 valve lump from a zx turbo or sylvia (s12).
