Default 2wd sapphire cosworth improvements 07/5/10 scuttle painted!

Well now the weathers improving and with summer coming time to finally get round to doing all the little jobs the cossie was requiring as i just couldnt be bothered over winter

with it being easter weekend and with fuck all to do it was best time to drag the cossie into the garage and crack on.1st on the list was replace the knacked rear spax shocks and replace them with a nice set of konis

bloody ell' these have seen better days

after putting the konis on took the car round the block for a little drive and the improvement is fantastic feels a hell of alot better driving over speed humps etcAlso before i took the car out i changed the rotor arm and dizzy cap for new items in the hope i can sort out the poor cold start running issues as from cold its running like a sack of shit, well after fittin these went out and at low revs the car deffo feels alot better and more smooth so fingers crossed moving in the right direction

thats all i got round to doing today next on the list is replace the tappets and sort out the bloody oil leak ive got which seems to be coming from the oil presure switch area so bought a new one and will be replacing that too along with a dam good steam clean underneath!

thats all for now heres afew random pics i took

Looks great back on standard lamps, should do something with the foglight surrounds, maybe black or something...not sure how that would look though.

Keep it up

this week in the evenings been doing some little jobs on the old girl, the thing thats bugged me for ages is all the so called black trims had faded over time like door mirror units, door handles, scuttle panel and rear door triangles. So i thought i would give them a fresh coat of satin black paint

heres how the plastics were looking heres one of the door mirrors

while the n/side one is drying heres the drivers side which i had done yesterday

looks so much better now it back to black

thats all for today as i ran out of paint

been doing some more little jobs on the car gave the rear door quarter trims a fresh coat of paint as they had vaded over time and removed the small sapphire logo and replaced with cosworth logo

next up was the scuttle panel i had a spare one in garage left over from my previous saph so also gave that a fresh coat of paint. This is how it looked before dull with polish over spill etc

spare one painted up

now fitted

just need to colour up the 3 scuttle screw caps and jet washers before installing them.
