Hello just changing my rear brake drums on my 1990 mk4 escort and I cant find my work shop manual for the correct tightening.

does anyone know how tight I need to do the nut and how much do I back off?

nip the nut up then back it off until you can just slide the washer behind it slightly using a small flat blade screwdriver put a new split pin in and then when you've tightened the wheel with the wheel off the ground and the handbrake off grasp the wheel top and bottom and check for play
