AHA!! Now were talking
I knew it wasnt the fooking adjuster you had lost
The actual adjustment screw is inside the unit, youve lost the extension tower from the top that SOME had.
Next to the "hole" do you also have 2 smaller holes? Or is there just one hole?

APMSL @ Tiffany, - spoilt your fun has he?
Ok Stu, just had a look & it's a hole on it's own, it's the one that if you adjust it clockwise it pushes the flap down slightly (i hope that makes sense)

Right,
If it has only one hole, you will see its threaded inside. This early unit never had an extension housing with the spring loaded adjuster, so your isnt missing at all
You used to have a small screw in there, so find something suitable and sort it

NO!!
The adjuster is an allen headed screw and its STILL IN THE HOLE
Just put a small screw in the hole to make it airtight and leave adjustments to those who know what theyre up to...
Technically the tape is fine... but thats not my "professional" advice, thats me thinking your capable of no better

Stu, theres no screw in there mate, to check this i put a little torch in the metering unit (by pushing the flap down) & the light was shining right through the hole where the screw is meant to be

AJ.. trust me on this one...
There IS a screw in there
Its just not where YOU think it is
When you pressed the arm down, you moved the screw out of teh way too as its part of the flap and arm assembly
If only i had a pic here at home
