Default Does a 2.0 head fit a 1.8?

Hi,

Seen a ported head from a 2.0 blacktop for sale. Just wondered does this fit the 1.8 blacktop focus or are there compression issues etc?

Also does it make difference if the head is a focus or mondy blacktop?

Thanks,

Matt

The head from the 2.0 is basically the same but you will lose some compression, it will take it down to about 9:5-1 IIRC.

It has been done and it will work fine but you may lose some power even with the porting.

I'm almost certain that the Mondy and focus blacktop heads are the same.

cheers m8, if no gains then will leave it.

The reply i got from seller was

"The combustion area around the valves is different. The 1.8 has a very small amount of extra material, which means it has slightly higher compression compared to the 2.0. The 1.8 compression ratio is 10.5:1, and the 2.0 is 10:1. You would never notice the difference, and with the head being skimmed it would be around the same ratio anyway."
