...or know about them!!!! 1.0litre 3 cylinders!!!!
This car sounds rather raspy from the back box...is this normal for this engine or is the rear box fucked ? Its only done 14500miles
sounds wrong to me but the bloke said it was normal and he loved the sporty tone

Same as a toyota aygo mate (its a toyota with a pug badge and some cosmetic changes), and yes they are actually quite noisey from the little 3 cylinder when you rev them hard, not sure I would really call it sporty but its certainly not as quiet as I was expecting the first time I drove one.
Hard to explain, but I doubt it has been changed at all, they just dont sound how you would expect them to.

...the raspy noise is coming from the back box chip???? Yes the front sounds like its missing a cylinder!
..Is the rasp from the rear normal!
Tubi is being fitted thursday
(to the m5 not the pug
)

Yeah they do rasp quite a bit when you rev them mate, thats normal.
One of the best designs of petrol car in recent times IMHO in terms of meeting the requirements briefed for, its amazing that it does over 60mpg, can carry 4 adults my size without any of them being short of legroom, do 98mph, be very safe (ncap 4 IIRC) and still fit into such a small package.
Forget the bmw effort, the aygo/c1/107 is the REAL new mini!
Really really cool little cars, if looked at from the perspective of achieving what they are meant to.
Fucking hateful things from a performance point of view though compared to the sort of stuff you are used to driving of course!

BUT its gonna go up on ebay like i did the TT at a high price and see what happens.

I have the "pleasure" of working for a Peugeot main dealer these days, and its part of my job to sell these 107's.
In fairness, they are the most reliable Pug on sale today (legacy of the Toyata running gear and electrics) and as such we see very few owners back with problems.
To drive they are like the original mini in concept, a wheel at each corner, decent space and dare i say, chuckable handling (where theres about the right amount of mechanical grip vs the limited power)
The reason they are raspy is because the large rear exhaust box is mounted sideways under the boot floor, and it seems to amplify the noise inside the cabin - worse when you rev it hard.
They are ultra economical tbh, mind you, £35 fills the tank from empty.
Ironically though, the mechanically, and almost bodily identical Toyota Aygo, is cheaper than our 107!

All i would say is please dont drive the Automatic 2-tronic version.... fook me they are pedestrian, i had a test drive last weekend, 4 up (4 big uns like me) and the thing very nearly stopped on a hill... even the bloke who was driving was pissing himself. Needless to say he didnt buy it describing it as "shit" LOL
