Arrow Will a 2wd Head be ok for 4wd setup

As above, I want to use the 2wd head I have just had rebuilt but am starting to find that 4wd bits arent bolting on ie, the thermostat housing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Joe

would have thought so mate, the only things that are differnet really are the thermostat housing and the location of the temp sender, other than that other than the obvious differences like the maching to water ways and combustion chamber the rest should just be the same!!

how come the stat housing wont fit?! had a look at my 2wd head on the car and my spare 4wd head and they both have the same amount of holes drilled for housings...........

Early 2wd heads only had 2 holes, never looked to see if another could be drilled tapped to suit 4wd stat housing ?

I dont suppose a 2wd housing would be ok on a 4wd setup as I have one spare and have spent a lot of money rebuilding this head?

cant see it being a problem mate other than u having to change the hoses so their 2wd ones?!

Have u got a pic of the area the stat bolts onto, as tabs said u might just be able to get the 3rd hole tapped as its probably cast so it can have it done!!

the photo shows a 2wd water pump is fitted, so you need a 2wd thermostat housing & 2wd bottom radiator hose

Was gonna say looks like a 2wd pump not 4x4!!!

Also took a pic of my 4x4 head, urs doesnt seem to have the extra material machined flat where the 4x4 stat housing would mate too as tabs said must be an early head....
