Using a twin scroll turbo with a single external wastegate - Is there any point, do you feel it is beneficial? I have mixed feelings.
When the gate is closed, the gas velocity may stop the cylinder pairs from contaminating each other. On the otherhand, they may not. Most likely there will be some mixing, but it may be negligable.
When open, the turbo has spooled so the mixing is no longer an issue and it's the flow ability of the entire assembly that's important.
Thought?
Rick.
