Default grinding brakes?

ok, just got the mondeo moving after about a month sitting on the sidelines and i've got a bit of a brake issue that i need to solve before tomorrow morning as i need the car then

started her up, went to move it, nothing, gave it some more revs, nothing, gave it some more and then it went "clonk" and moved, almost as if the brakes had sized up

but ever since then, it's had a grinding noise coming from the passenger side front wheel

it's not there when you drive normally, there is no vibration, nothing, but when you brake there is a buzzing noise and when you slow down a bit the brake pedal is fine and even, but the disc seems to "grab" so you don't slow down evenly, but in sort of fits and spurts

i've had a look and the disc has no strange ridges on it, it's not hot, even after 15 miels worth of driving, there is plenty of pad material left, so what could it be?

i've sort of ruled ou the posibility the disc is warped as it's not doing it when i'm driving and there is no vibration or pulsing through the pedal so i thought one of you could possibily enlighten me with your input

ap 6 pots and 362's so i'm thinking possibly one of the pistons might be stuck?

can't do shit until the mrs comes home, and then she's going to have botht he kids with her so no help there either then

if there stuck on dojj jack the wheel up and spin it by hand you'll soon see if it's binding, or jack the front up start the car leave it in 2nd or summit press the brakes slightly till it nearly dies let the brakes off and see if the brakes are still binding on one of the disks, it'll just have the one wheel spinning hopefully as the diff kicks in.

or stop being a lazy bastard and take the calipers off and give them an inspection and a clean

Mine is parked on a sloping driveway, and as a result the shoes bind a bit on cold nights. Then when I realease the handbrake it almost sounds like a weld being broken. I have to renew the shoes .

it sounds like they've rusted a bit and its still scraping some of the rust off but then you do seem to have driven it a fair few miles which is confusing.

sounds like the rust got deep as it was stood for so long. may take a few hard applications of the brake to fully get rid of it. just do it on a clear bit of road cos they wont be operating at full power and you dont wanna plow into the back of someone lol.
