Is it really that exciting?

I'm a little sad because I haven't had a ride in a Pagani Zonda, but I don't loose sleep over it. But a Cosworth? LOL.

Dont think he said he,s loosing sleep over it pal!! I think its great this kinda post comes up, im sure if he had the choice between a new fast car and the cossie to go out in, the cossie would be chosen. People love these cars without even knowing why, keep ya Zonda lol

Hold on a minute, are you serious? You telling me that anyone in their right mind would choose a spin in a 20 year old Sierra over a modern hyper car? If we were talking about Rods Cossie or Andrew Gallaghers Focus it's a different ball-game, but we're not.

yeh well said, i dont think a camparison was the idea of the thread , we are on a Ford based forum and tht love for a cossie was being expressed thats all. No harm intended , comparing something like a Zonda was hardly worth mentioning if at all . Not comparing the cars , i mean comparing your wishes.

i realy dont know what the attraction is,even when i had mine i was very surprised at the amount of people who wanted taken for a run in it!

to me they are the peter stringfellow of the car world, sure at one time they were the man of the moment when they were younger but now its just wrong

Oh come on even you can admit theres an aura about cossies! A standard one iw pretty wank but anything stage one and above with a cone filter and its a real cool experience that makes all the right noises.

I know i sound pretty chavvy there but you cannot beat the sound of a cossie coming on boost. Mine is fucking awesome!

I wouldn't care if it was Rod's Cossie or an AG built one. Zonda is a Zonda end of story. V12 engine proper hyper car vs some shonky put together saff with a cooking pot 2.0 and massive turbo.

Think about it another way, would you actually say that in public: "I chose the great 200mph+ Saph built by the legendary Rod Tarry of Passionford over a Pagani Zonda because I love Cossies"

I could imagine some of the faces now

OMG i cant believe the comments about this lol, i want a ride in the new eurofighter pmsl , bleeeding ell guys im sure it was just a quick post up on the cossie aura thing. If the 2 mentioned vehicles pulled up of course id be thinking i wanna go in the supercar after cossie . But i wouldnt want it if given the choice. seriously. People run away with things on threads , ive done it myself for sure . Also as for 'wer,e not talking about rods car etc, ' wtf. Op just said sierra cosworth 800, 400 , 200 power who cares. Anyway bet my old dagenham will be remembered far more than hypercars for sure. To me its an easy thing to make supercars these days, nothing special in my view . But thats just mine and 1 view.
Mike

I'm not bothered about going in 'hyper cars', 'super cars' and all shit like that tbh. I'm not interested in anything to do with these kind of cars as I know I will never get a chance to own one as long as I have a hole in my arse not that I would want one anyway.

I do however love cossies. I like the way they look, like the way they go (when they're running anyway!! ), I like the fact they are simple to work on and best of all, I like the fact it's a car I can and do own.

At the end of the day, the world would be a very dull place if we all wanted the same thing.

Cossies have presence on the road, that most new cars will never have. Yes technology has come on in car terms i.e evos etc, but will never have the stigma that a cossie has. Suppose its the old saying " each to their own ". Not many new cars interest me if im honest.

its all about character i reckon, no matter if a cars slow or quick a good one has character, thats what makes you want to have one

minis for exapmle have character and not even triple figure power sums

as in my opinion do most frods pre 2000

loud exhaust, big induction kit, turbo on song and the wheels spinning just to be sure everybody looks

I would take mine anyday over modern stuff (And they were born before me so not like I haven't been around modern cars) as said great road presence, as to the comment people don't know them, never known that, never been able to avoid talking to random people, Iv'e even had woman looking and one even knew what car it was (thats by the front not looking at the badge at the back)

They come from a time where true drivers will appreciate them before modern "Hampering" electronics/safety rubbish were even thought of.
