I'm looking for help/advice with an ongoing problem on my focus. It initially went pear shaped on NY's day when it wouldn't start. The problem was no fuel being fed into the engine. Initially , we thought it was the Crank shaft position sensor which was changed 2 weeks ago. Since then its been running beautifully , firing up first time and sounding quiet and smooth.
Today , drove round my sisters and an hour later i came out and bosh ! Exactly the ssme problem . Engine turns over but doesn't fire....with no fuel coming through.
The mech from Green flag spent about an hour trying to get it going with no joy ( apart from one start which he said probably pointed towards a low battery in my key not switching off the immobiliser ??? )
After a while , he said he thinks its the ignition relay in the fuse box shorting out . Does this sound feasible ?
This is starting to get to me now as i can't really afford to send it in to a garage to get diagnosed properly so need to try and keep trying myself.
So , engine turns but doesn't fire with no fuel feeding through.
Any thoughts guys...and girls ? All advice appreciated

Just had the car at my local garage and they plugged a diagnostic tool in and it came up with " Fuel pump - secondary circuit - high " . The mech will be contacting Ford's just to find out what the fault code means exactly but i was wondering if anyone here had an idea?
Does it mean the fuel pumps on its way out or is it more likely to be an associated electrical component/problem ? The fact that it mentioned the fuel pump does match up to the problem i've been having with intermittent start probs due to no fuel feed ( although it started 1st time on sunday when i went to recover the car and has been fine since. I have no faith in it at the moment though. )
Any similar faults experienced by anyone ?

Ok , so Ford say it probably relates to the fuel pump relay . I've looked at the relay and it seems to be a simple like-for-like replacement. The problem i'm having is sourcing a new one as my local spares place say its got to be a genuine ford spares dealer .
Anyone reccommend a decent place in Essex , close to Lakeside ?
