Default ST170 Thermostat Plug Leak

Hi, The plug on my thermostat housing has started to leak. I need a O-Ring with an internal diameter of 7.5mm, a cross section of 3.5mm. I've looked everywhere and you can only seem to buy these in bulk. I only need one, has anyone on here been able to find this washer in a shop?

its really annoying, I can see the problem and its a 15p O-Ring. The best i can find is a company with a £10 minimum spend... hmmmm what £9.85 of crap can I get.

Nope still looking, the local ford garage told me I'd have to buy the whole unit, so it was best for me to try scrap yards and such.
Let me know if you have any luck

half of these leaks you just need to put some good adhesive sealent. every1 fucking panics and gets a new thermostat housing. mine was leaking very slowly, we whipped it off and put some adhesive sealant on where metal part is where it moves. fine now

and fuck knows where that geezer got that from, you cant just replace that o-ring, it comes built in to the housing????????????????? you need whole thermostat housing.

just sealllllllll it

You can buy the small plug that leaks from Ford for £7.50,got one for mine yesterday. You get plug and seal but no spring clip, don't think you need to replace this. Some Ford garages say its not a replacable part and you need to buy a whole new thermostat housing but they are bullshitting, just after more money. Its a common fault to go on st170's but mine's lasted 5years so not that bad, just hope the new one lasts as long. Good luck..
