Default FINISHED - Escort Cosworth WRC Road Car

Hi all,

This is what I started off with.

You may remember how my first attempt at this car turned out.

Well, I was never happy with the result. The paint finish wasnt too good and was chiped in a few places.

So, striped with nitromors & primed, here we have it.

Wanted a few more bits smoothed, so out came the Milliput. Still needs sanding down but ive only done it an hour or so ago.

Have no idea on a colour as yet, but the interior will be staying standard & wheels the same as before.

Andy

Yeah, it will be staying blue.

Ive smoothed the rear bumper, boot top, skirts & roof vents. Will be having a spoiler put on. Was going to smooth some of the front bumper but decided not to. My other WRC road car will be totally smooth.

They take ages to do but are so worth it. Same with the Mini's I did, they took for ever to get right but they are one of my fav's.

Here it is, all finished in Ford Matisse Blue.

Additional to the smoothed skirts & boot spoiler from before, Ive smoothed the rear bumper & roof vents, M3 mirrors, added a few decals & some black details to the front.

& next to my standard one.

The next UT EsCos I do will have its doors glued shut as I hate them for the rubbing you get

I striped, primed & 2 layers of blue all separate then a few more layes of blue with them on to get a good match.

Not sure if glueing them shut works when you put them back together. I striped this back to bare metal and tried to be careful but they still rub a bit.

i always spray mine apart now as i use to do it together, think thats the problem as paint gets jamed in the gaps,i also paint metallic paint seperate now & they turn out fine,as long as ur given it the same coats & spray pattern it will match the other bits.
yeah be tricky to put bits back on if glued up.
