Hi all,

As requested in a previous thread, ive done pics of my Mk3 Escort so far.

When I did the RS1600i in Arctic Blue, I was left with the left over Escort.

So, striped with nitromors and primed, here we are.



After a little filling with the Milliput. Still needs sanding down but ive only done it an hour or so ago.





Need a decal for the filler cap as I couldnt get it out so nirtomors'd it & a body kit. Have some nice chrome weels to go on it already.

Have already selected a colour, but will wait & see if it suits the car before showing it.

Its Ford Morello & im using propper Ford paint, not Hycotte / halfords etc. Its off the new Fiesta I think.

 

nice is that the dark purple red one??

 

Its dk red cherry brown sort of colour.

Cant paint any more now, its too cold and raining

 

yeah i know the one its a nice colour its like a darker vw rosewood red

 

This is how it looks at the moment, fully painted & laquered with it just resting on the 2 wheels. Painted the brakes silver with Colorado Red calipers.



When you open the drivers door, it does catch the wing a little & have chiped off a little paint back to metal. Still have a little paint to touch it up tho & its not on the display side anyway.

Just need another set of front & rear lights (chrome inners & plastic outers).

 

looks diff mate,looks like it needs abit of polish now to make the color look deep & glossy,i thought steve was making lights for these mk3's?

Was he, didnt know that.

Im thinking of haveing the chrome inners on the front & back painted black then clear indecators on the front and either leave the rears as they are or all red.

Its all finished

Paint is Ford Morello from the new Fiesta.

Body mods are smoothed holes left from RS1600i bumpers & wing + the fuel cap .

Mods are flocked seats, Escort Cosworth engine, s/s exhaust, lightly tinted lights front & rear (chrome bit painted black), chrome wheels & drilled brakes with red calipers. Also a boot build, black flocked with 2 subs & amp.

 

Here it is with my other 2 modified Mk3 Escorts.

can i ask why have you put them back in boxes??

 

where do you model guys get all the parts to mod these things?

sld make up a bit of carpet for the boot to cover the spare wheel

 

Too much hassle painting the engine bay & ive not got any paint left. Only used a little 150ml can.

If the car came in a box, it lives in a box. Ive not got any cabinates and it keeps them nice and dust free. Saying that, ive not got any room to display it either, have loads in the loft.

 

Could do, just flock a bit of plasticard like it did with the floor mats.
