Default 330 bhp cosworth v RST

What power do you reckon the RST would have to have to pull a good bit on the cosworth, it would be a race from 2nd to 5th but not flat out in 5th.

To actually pull on a good 330bhp cossie you'd need a good 350bhp in an RST. Even that said once up to 130mph it would be very close.

Bare in mind a proper 330bhp 2wd cossie will do 0 - 60 in sub 5, 0 - 100 in 11secs and top out at 165mph. As you can see to out accelerate this in an RST you'd nead a VERY fast RST!!!

As I recall, Bob Marshall (B16 RBM on here) couldn't pull away from me round Snetterton. I think he has 350+bhp, not really sure though.

i had a 290 bhp 2wd cossie, i was racing my old rst that put out 220@ wheels at ava, acceleration i was in front by about 2-3 car lenghts, but as soon as he started to get traction he was gaining on me pretty quick, he went in front of me at prob about 90 mph

Karl
Changing the subject slightly what would the figures be for a good 330 bhp 4x4 cosworth.
0-60
0-100
Top Speed

Thanks
Terry

I raced Switch and Dave Green back from the Beds meet one evening. Mine makes a dyno'd 248bhp with 265lb of torque. At best I was keeping up but I was left in no doubt as to just how quick a genuine 300+ bhp Cossie is. I really didn't stand much of a chance at all.

Then I got told off because I forgot about the wifes whiplash as I tore from roundabout to roundabout

Terry,

A good 330bhp 4X4 should produce a 0 - 60 time of around 4.5 secs and 0 - 100 of around 11.5secs. Top speed should be around 160mph.
