when i try and change to 5th gear i find it awkward there seems to be a knack to it if i just change normaly it seems to not go into gear corectly as if its just like when you put a car into reverse and sometimes its not in enough and you get that grinding sound but then if i push it harder and over to the right a tiny bit it goes in and works fine is there any adjustments or is it the gear box but apart from that the box seems a1 i only got 68000 miles on the car and its a 1.4 petrol

 

Sounds as though the gear linkage needs adjusting, very easy to do, haven't done one in ages, but basically it is put into a certain gear, I think it is 5th on a 5 speed and 2nd on a 4 speed, then a pin inserted through hole in the linkage, then tightened up on the clamp, a haynes manual would be a good bet, as my memory isn't!!
