Around 01:50 this morning I heard the sound of a noisy exhaust down my street. I looked out of my window to see my Escort Bonus track car being towed up the road by a dark red Vectra which I think was a T reg but couldn't tell due to him having no lights on. They had to push my grey s2 off my drive to take it as it was blocked in. They tried to have the s2 judging by the ignition area which is strange cause it had a big disk lock on. By the time I jumped into the car to follow he was long gone
A brief description
Escort 1.1 Bonus 3dr in mercury grey
Reg G857KBO
S1 wheels
Koni shocks
1.9cvh built by Jamsport
Gotech MFI engine management
Cosworth 2wd stage 2 T3 turbo
Grey bucket seats
AP Racing 4 pot calipers and grooved discs
MEF adjustable front bottom arms
I can't make a claim either as it wasn't quite finished therefore uninsured. People who know me will know how much money, time and effort I put in and how close it was to being finished. I only ever did one track day in it and that was when it had just a 1.6 carb engine. Was really looking forward to having some fun in it this year. I really do feel like crying lol If you have any info could you please get in touch
Thanks

Only pics I have of the engine is when it was in the s2 i broke. Looked scruffy but went like a stabbed rat!!

Wot thieving c*nts. Really hope you hear something.
Not much help but why dont you contact a few ford breakers and see if they hear anything.
Feel for you mate i really do, only every had one car stolen and it killed me as had only been on the road 12 hours after a full resto..

You would be suprised what goes missing around our area, not that many bright folk about - probably wouldnt have a clue how to steal a new car.
I know of a few mates in Wordsley that had there Bonus nicked, for nothing more than a couple of hours joyride and a BBQ for after.
That's EXACTLY the type of car that gets nicked the most as it'd be seen as an easy target.
However, it's not the type of car that people would nick by towing away, so yeah, sounds like whoever it was knew some more about it.

exactly!!
Joyriders dont tow cars away. the shell will end up BBQ'd i suspect!!
Also was the steering at full lock on the S2??? putting it on full lock makes it hard to tow out the way.

Free bump for Phil.
I know your gutted mate, im sure someone local knows what was special about an unasuming grey mk4 escort.
The bits on it are fairly rare (ie the 4pot AP's) so its a matter of time before they surface somewhere i hope.
Unless its been knicked especially for the bits for someone elses S2??

Thanks for all your kind words and support on this
Car was found around 4pm on the Tuesday afternoon, thanks to some truely great friends. Word got round we were on the hunt for it and they must have bottled it big time and dumped the car on a car park on a council estate in Blackheath. The only things missing are the samco hoses and the air filter from what i can see. No real damage to the shell but I'm not too fussed anyway as it's only for track days. It's now at my mates unit where I hope it will be safe until I can get things sorted on it and more secure.
Everyone just be extra careful as a few have gone missing from the area just lately. I was just one of the lucky ones to get it back
