Default PF national day, would you be interested

As it says, ive not spoken to the hierachy but as i have seen the whinges about the RSday and a fair few people moaning about the RSOC in general i am asking your views on a possible PF national day.

I must say that no location/prices/dates and more importantly the PF gaffers dont know shit till they read this.

or pehaps a weekender, similar to the one Fordsport put on. Gives people the chance to come on either 2 days, or both with camping etc, and perhaps NewTechPirates putting a show on in the evening.???

Good luck though to whoever decides to organise it.... A lot more effort is required than you think!

Fooking ell good luck to you lol

Its a great idea, fantastic infact,,,,but have you organised anything like this before

It would take you months to organise it all, and to be honest with you too, you would prob end up paying for alot of it out of your own pocket!!

There was a post ages ago about doing something like this for PF, however,,,,its just too much work at the moment!

The RSOC have people who sit there all day just sorting this sort of stuff out,,,,not like you or I or may be doing it for fun & in our spare time!

I have taken over organising the PF Stands for shows for 2005 after Lewis kindly passed em over to me ,,,,that in itself is hard work, people don't relise how much time / effort and even doing what I'm doing,,,,cost outta ya own pocket goes into it all!!

Take yesterday for example, I sat there most of the afternoon, just sorting out cheques, cash, peoples address's, sorting out letters and maps, contact numbers,,,,,,and this is just for 26 cars to attend a show and just for us to have a stand!!!

I think if you was going to do something like it, top idea that Porkie had, start out with someone else, like Fordsport, its just too much to do on ya own!!

I know the Fordsport weekend end of last year, top show and really good weekend, however they just about broke even,,,,if at all!!!!!

cool idea...but it will either cost alot to enter or the price of gold membership or even just a "new" basic membership would have to go up to cover the cost of such an event!

Dont get me wrong i would happily pay the same as say the rsoc charge for the abilty to go to a PF national day! and have news letters an such!

but PF would have to employ a team to organise just such events!

Good idea tho and i belive maybe the mangment should maybe put some extra thought into it!

The management are already far too busy trying to run their own existing businesses and feed their families to be able to deal with something on this scale for the PassionFord website.. sorry.

To organise a show the scale some of you are thinking woud run into 10s of thousands of pounds....

The main problem is finding someone to front the money initially. Its a huge risk to that person as its the ticket sales / traders which come afterwards which repay it!

The RS Nat day probably wasnt practical 1st time round

Look at it now, some of the less fortunate no life ford owners build up a years worth of man mayo to clean their cars for it

The RSOC though is a "club" where as PF is not!!

The RSOC gets a regular income from things they sell such as Membership and merchandise amoung other things.

& before we go down that route,,,,,I don't think PF should become a club either

Thing is you are garenteed to get your invested money back......... If its a good show and the weather is good, but whos gonna garentee that

I really don't think getting the money would be that much of a problem within reason. If Tiff can raise over £600 for his kids football team and no one really gets anything out of it then why couldn't an amount of cash be raised by getting peoples money in advance for say an entrance fee.

There has to be over 8000 people on here , obviously not all are going to go but more than a couple of thousand.
£5 x 2000 = £10,000 and that's quite a few £££££'s

Who's gonna volunteer to organise it

its nice to think that 2000 people would all put in a £5.00 donation to get this going,,,but still,,,,,can you imagine being on 2000 peoples back asking em / reminding em they said they'd chip in for it!

Its bad enough reminding some of you lot ya owe me a fiver for the Beds RSOC show

Very true , but it could be like the Beds Day , No ticket No entry and i am sure people would cough up then especially if RS National Day costs £15 to get in.

How much is Santa Pod to hire out for the day( Without the rain )

Do agree it would be a good idea to try and share an event with the Fordsport lot

Cliff, ring them up and ask them how much deposit they want to host an event like this, then try and get commitment from traders...

I agree with Nikki unless your a club like RSOC with £200k + in the bank [ ] its just too expensive to fook about with

by the way just because PF has a FAR FAR better and superior website, don't underestimate the size and strength of the RSOC as an organisation. They are very BIG!
