Default Broken tilt wires

I have just bought a 2003 , MK6 fiesta zetec,3door and realised the two front seat tilts do not work. Not sure whether the tilt cable has snapped or just been dislocated from the handle.

Has anybody got a diagram or pictures for how to fix it??

No diagram, they are 'easy' enough to fix but very, very fiddley, and if you're not careful you can break the handle and possibly the plastic cable end when trying to fit the new parts.

Youll need new handles even if they are not broken, as you cannot remove them intact.

Remove the seat base, its just 2 10mm bolts underneath the seat, you don't have to do this but I find it makes it easier and only takes literally 20 seconds to do.

Remove the outer plastic trim on the side of the seat.

'Split' the seat cover at the back, its just two plastic 'C' clips that run the full width of the seat cover.

Pull the back and front of the seat cover up so you can get to the bottom parts where the cable is clipped into the seat tilting mechanism.

Pull the tilt handle off, it will be tight but will come off.

Disconnect the lower parts of the cable from the tilt mechanism, there is two plastic clips that just pull out, then twist the metal ends out.

Using a pair of pliers, carefully twist the large plastic end of the cable (the top part) 90 degrees and the whole cable will pull out towards you, be sure to remember the routing of the cables (the longer part to the inside of the seat, for example) before you remove the cable.

It's pretty easy to fit the new cable, but fitting the handle can be a nightmare, basically line it up and smack it over the cable, if you fuck it up at the least you will have broken the handle so be careful.

If you need any other help let me know and i'll do my best.
