Default Welding due on the floor, near vin

Hi guys,

Hoping some one may help.

Ive got to cut out rust on the floor, and plate it up. BUT the area affects is encroaching on the VIN plate area on the floor.
I DO NOT want to touch it, until i know if i need to get anything do after ive welded everything up?
Will it need restamping? and will it affect my next MOT? (which is due soon)
Cheers

doubt it will affect MOT as the testers never check that anyway - they just use the previous years ticket.

Defo get it checked out tho - possibly VOSA or DVLA - doubt it will be an issue as escort mk 1 and mk 2 owners tend to weld new floor panels without any issues.

safety comes first, weld it up if you have to.

I was advised by the DVLA to take pics before and after, also if it was an MOT failure keep a copy of the failure ticket explaining where it failed.

I havent had the mot yet, i welded one full sill in on one side. Then, i noticed the other side was kaput too, but i saw where it joined the floor, it was rotten quite abit.
This is what i get for buying crap

Well, i'll weld it up and see what happens. Hopefully they wont reposs it

Tbh i'd take pics of it in, then if it may damage the vin no's anyway i'd just chop the full vin out complete then replace what needs doing, at least you've still got the no's intact. Just my view *(prepare's to get flamed)*
