Default rear discs whats needed?

I'm currently putting my S2 back together and I'm thinking about putting rear discs on, I've seen a "kit" for sale but it is very expensive so i was wondering if there is any other way of doing it?

Thanks alot,

Ant

I bought the calliper mounting brackets, bolts and correct size spacers from west midland rs spares for 25 quid. Then i bought second hand callipers from scrap yard for 50 quid, rs2000 hand brake cable, rear disc and pads for a 2 wheel drive cossie from andrew pages knocked up a couple of copper brake lines but you may be able to use your original if they have not rusted away. Think it cost me about 150.

Fitting the kit is straight forward enough, just remember to bleed ya callipers when the nipples at the highest point. in my case that is not when mounted to the new brackets

when the calliper is bolted to a sierra they are right at the top of the disc, but on my escort they drop back a bit causing the bleed nipple to be in the wrong position so the air goes to the highest point in the calliper where the nipple was. The only way to get the air out was to raise the calliper unbolted into its normal position open the nipple and release the air in the system, taking care not to damage brake pipe.
Hope this helps

Cheers for that,

Looks good, although pricey it seems, whats the surcharge all about? works out to £400 odd with VAT?
