If you're running it for turbo application you need to drop the compression to suit and ideally the head needs somecarefull working to prevent the power and torque vanishing past 5.5krpm

nowt wrong with zvh pal, but if you're starting from scratch, then zetec turbo all the way.
my zvh is quite quick and i'd say for horsepower the cvh suffers as badly it's just the power comes in much earlier in the revs than a cvh which is why it won't rev as far, mainly due to ports in head.
i'd love to see a power curve comparisson of cvh vs. zvh all the way to 8krpm and see how they really vary at the top end.
i've only seen the drop off at 5.5krpm on a zvh and yet to see how the engine responds higher up.
what you must remember is that a zvh is a very torquey engine and as such is a bit diesel like.

I would say this would make one brilliant at blasting round the B roads.

i wouldn't run much boost on 2l pistons though, the 1.8's have much thicker crowns on the earlier ones and can handle boost better even after a amsll skim.
as said a zvh has a massive surge of power that the cvh never seems to have even with a wild cam or big turbo.
can't make a replacement for displacement
