Can anyone recommend a mobile window tinting company in berkshire? or someone that covers berkshire?

and does anyone know if I'm allowed to have dark smoke (apparently 40%) on the drivers window, passenger window, and the rear window?

From what i can gather, I'm not allowed to put dark smoke on the front windows, but can I not just tell the plod that they were fitted before January 2004? or will the window tint firm not even do it?

Any advice appreciated

 

window tint firm will do what ever you pay them for lol..

as for the law, its any car with dark tints on the front windows that let less than 70% light in are illegal

you could go limo black on the rear dark somke ont the rear sides and light smoke on the fronts, wont look much different from the outside cos there will be no light inside the car.

either that or dont get stopped!

i remeber reading about someone that had just bought a merc M600 or whatever the 4x4 one is and that had limo black glass from the factory.

think he had to pay 2k for clear windows or summut like that

 

Me and RobS had light smoke on our car's and got stoppped and tested.Reading was 35%.So not even half way to being legal. So when we took them off and got retsted they still only just passed.Windscreen didnt.

So as far as I'm concerned NO tints Forward of the 'B' pillar.Up to you but if you get stopped you WILL get told to take them out so why waste the money.HTH

 

anyway, how do they test it?

say its a cloudy dull day where there aint much light anyway... the readings will be low

or do they have to shine a torch through the window?

 

they have a sensor that clips to the window itself.So doesn't matter wot the darkness/weather is like.

It got tints all round on my vectra....Including the front screen, never been stopped for it yet, touch wood
