Maybe a silly question - but are the s1 mirrors the same fitment as the s2?

Not sure if the S1 had them, but i think the mk3 ghia's did, so you could use a set from them.

the ghia's come up on ebay from time to time, S2 dont look right thou

 

I had electric mirrors in my -85 mk1 Orion. It also had a few other electric extras that the S1 didn't have, like solenoid pop-up boot, light in the front seat floor area, rear interior roof light, interior light exit delay, ...

you should be ably to take out the internals out of the s2 ones, its only the glass thats different

 

the orion ghia mirrors were electric and heated mirrors.
