New tyres, what ya recomend
Right just put the old girl through the MOT and she done good
Just the four tyres needed
(Bloody 4x4 at least 2wd was only 2 at a time lol)
Right as said 4x4 lowered hardened dry weather grip good, so am after a tyre that gives good wet weather performance (got the older F1's on there at the mo and aint had any probs with them
), but when my sis went to buy some of these a while back they didnt do em anymore and the new style were loads more £££, I know it worth spending and not skimping on tyres but what im after is a reasonably priced tyre with good wet weather performance something that can handle a couple of shoot out type track days (not full on circuit racing stuff
) which will also give reasonable life span on the road as car is used everyday for normal car type things like going shopping and down the Chineese
Oh ye size is 205 45 16
Cheers

Hate picking new tyres lol, when i brought my F1's they were clearly the leader in all the reviews I read so was easy, but they done so well aint even looked at tyres for the past couple years (shows what milage I do
)
Steve
PS I want/need em to be up near the 180 mph speed rating pls (ye ok so someone gonna come on and say i never done 180, but want to be at least trying to get close this year
so want a tyre that i can be confident in
)

ive never had avons TBH but a mate of mine had them on his Nova
(was a 2.0l mind) and they were fine... BUT the ones he had were VERY soft and wore out very quick..
I should warm you this can be an issue with the proxies too as they are a fairly soft compound tyre..
Although it will be the same with any tyre that will grip... ie if it grips it wears out quicker!

NA unfortunately id kinda figured that, my main concern is for wet weather really, I do use the car evry day even if it just to comute but that aint exactly an hours drive
Steve
my tyres dont seem to have them in your size
However camskill do
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s344p0
thought they would be cheaper than they are though!
cost more than my 17's did!
you have got the option of the falcons too but they aint the best IMO.. i had them a while ago and my cab used to understeer like mad.
the Kuhmo's are a cheap and cheerful tyre.. not had much experience with them although my Mrs has the 205/40/17 ecsta supra on her punto and theve been good so far.

Ye am liking the idea of the proxies, had a read on a few other forums and only found one gut not recomendind em (funnily enough he went to the Avons i mentioned earlier, but a few others well out weighed him backing the toyos
)
right just gotta find the best price for em, and this is the tr1's i presume, aint actually had a look at the link yet (gonna finish tyoing this first lol) and aint found em else where either, but spose the speed rating on these is ok

205 40 17 are what ive been running. tyre wall is nicely rounded to so dont catch the archs unlike shit marshalls that slide around in the wet.
errrrr i dont know the answer to that
lol

Ye think ill stick with the 205's, just seeing as i got one not very pretty wheel and need the four tyres it seems like a good time to maybe hunt a deal out on a tyre wheel combo
and that may as well be 17's this time
