Default Ok so it's not a ford...

and its not remotely as cool as one either...but here goes....

I decided i wanted something a little different to my previous cars, something with potential that hasn't been done to death. made 5k back from the sale of my beloved b18 civic

and 2 days later i was in posession of the banana. Fully standard, 2 lady owners with full skoda history, 77k etc etc.Now this may have seemed a wierd choice but i'm not one to buy something shit, already have plenty of plans and rest asured it will have as much time and effort spent on it as my previous cars.
so heres how it looked on autotrader

once it was home, paint renovated and pictures taken with a proper camera

and now its been lowered, wind deflectors,6k HIDS, Interior mats, Forge recirculation valve, Vrs an Octavia Badges removed off the rear,

windows tinted, rear is oem colour, and front is light smoke. car is a bit dirty but meh...

back now lowered a tad more, wind deflectors and tints done, spaced the rears 5mm, new headunit in

indicators turned up, so rather than changing just the shitty one, changed them both despite only one being misty

before letting water in and greeness

new and comparison

After, fit like oem so happy with them, will give the headlight a polish to make it looking new when the weather is half dry

Bought a K03s off good ald ebay for Ł250. gonna send it away to get a few bits done to support 280bhp-300bhp and have all bearing etc replaced, in the mean time will get together all the other bits im needing so i can put them all on in one fell swoop and get it mapped etc. should have all the bits ready for summer i'm reconning.

purchased some 440cc bosch injectors

before and after

fins gone

(rear discs were replaced before i bought so never bothered with ebc for them)

4x4 mode

old crap off

old pads and discs were buggered, bigger lips than lesley ash

new stuff on

never been a fan of green calipers, and red pads just topped it off! so....

replaced the dogbone mount to for a poly one, feels a lot more positive and has prevented a bit of wheel hop, not bad for Ł20 anyhow

then some pics once brakes were bedded in (the right way.....70-0 a few times)

Hoses from volksbits arrived, quality seems really good, definately much much better than OEM

5 ply

and 440cc bosch injectors arrived too

Fuel pump fitted too

4bar FPR

Decided to modify my crash bar to allow better flow, no point it being blocked off, and the bar has retained its strength as ive only cut a window out

comparison

in bits...

GTF sidemount

and on

and modified bumper

Plate will hide the holes day to day but good to take off for track etc for better cooling.
Drove home and car induction sounds deeper, seems to pull better lower down in higher gears but is probably just my imagination. Lag over old shitmount is minimal, 500revs tops id say, overall very impressed with the quality. Full turbo back system next, then hybrid turbo then put all my other goodies on and get it mapped hoping for figures near 300bhp, have seen similar builds with that power so.....

Very nice huge transformation and you shouldnt be far off 300 with that spec. Were you not tempted to just get a bigger hybrid turbo or a k04?

the k03s will be getting hybrided to rs6 spec k04, i didnt fancy changing oil and water lines, manifold and downpipe for the k04. i dont want to be spending rediculous amounts on this as plans are to start saving for something a bit naughtier in future. a decent specced evo ideally, but plans will always change! if i were to go for a better/bigger turbo i would have gone gt30...but again the costs associated put me pff, don't want to rip the engine to bits like a did with my previous car! just want it with decent reliable power to abuse everyday

Should think it will have more than enough power to have some fun with and will be pretty reliable too.
All the best with it.

Thumbs up

Very Nice i'll be keeping my eye on this as I have the same car too and wouldn't mind seeing what power you get with that turbo.

Where did you get them indicator lenses from?

whole different kind of car, civic used to bounce 9000rpm everyday and loved the twisties, was like a bike. the skoda is a newer comfier and more subtle car, doesn't get the looks the civic did and i dont mind parking this in car parks etc should soon be quicker than the civic though

Had the key scratch painted today, was doing my head in. also had the mirror cover painted to as it has always been a different shade and always stook out a bit.

Nice, trouble is with yellow it fades worse than red! I still get wet when looking at the wheels though

As long as a good quality Laqcuer is used with a high percentage of UV Filter it shouldnt fade anywhere near as much as a direct gloss paint. Loving this thread as have been thinking of getting an octavia myself

Todays progress

Since fitting the fuel pump when nailing it out of roundabouts car has seemed to surge a little bit, so pump back out and found a little nick in one of the pipes, soon sorted that out and seems to be fine now.
Also fitted my breather hose that i bought a while back, original was split and making the rocker cover all shitty. exhaust at the end of the month and will send the turbo away the following month. Bought some oil and filter in preperation for ripping it to bits.

Bits left to buy

Turbo gasket
Coolant

and i think thats about it! injectors, FPR TIP and some new spark plugs are all boxed up together so i dont loose anything!
