i had a boost leak on my evo 3 it took me ages to track it down but do what i did, take all the boost pipes and intercooler pipes off and give them a good check , also take the actuator off and check its holding pressure, all i did was take off all the pipe work off and put it back on and all was fine

RR's are good for finding stuff like this, or try and pressurise the boost hoses somehow.

If it had a boost leak it'd be boosting low all the time wouldn't it? Do you know how the standard management controls the boost, solenoid or anything?? If it's an easy enough job to do the actuator i'd be definately changing that first off!

N75 valve controls the boost on these and can be problematic. If you get a copy of VAGcom and a cable you can check for any fault codes
