Hi guys,

I'm building a car with an 2.5mazda/ford engine. But i want to make it an 4x4(AWD) like an quatro, cossie 4x4. (not an offroader) 1 guy told me i could use a transmission of an MONDEO 4x4....

Could one of you Ford-masters confirm this solution? and mayby some photos of the transmisson and engine? Because is cant find any info what so ever about this mondeo.. (probably not build ore sold in europe)

specs :

2500 24v Ford Probe engine.
Need an awd gearbox.

and the enigine has to stay on the original place. i dont want to turn it 90degrees.

COULD anyone help me? a bit

 

they did make a 4wd mondeo mk2 mate

came with a zetec i beleive

 

crap i forgot to tell its an V6 engine.

i never heard of an 2,5 straigth line probe engine :P

you could always try the jag x - type 2.5 awd, it is basically the 2.5 v6 duratec with a vvt head coupled to a 4wd incarnation of the MTX75 gearbox, allowing you to mount the engine in a transverse orientation, early x type models are going pretty cheap now, could be worth a look,
