Default No Sky+ boxes any more??!!

With the fantastic saving we made on our mobile contracts, we are considering getting Sky again. Although I think we'll end up with HD (I've found a good deal), I cannot see the normal Sky+ box on their site any more. They do promote using the Sky+HD box for £49 + £18 per month without the HD subscription though. Seems a bit over the top if you don't want HD!

theres generally a shortage about now neways so they dont advertise so much, my mate works for sky and he had no plus boxes available to him atm

they just bought out a new HD box with more capacity so if anybody is having a service call or new hd install dont forget to tip your fitter and mention your love of the new (500gb 250 partitioned tho) hd box

i fit freesat so we supply boxes for £200 or so and you pay no subs
i personally have a plus subs but have a hd box for the better capacity, better epg, infinatly better pic quality, teh box looks better and i still get bbc hd, itv hd and a couple of others too i dont really look at

if you want to be invited to get plus i can do that and we can split the tokens

Sky will only be using Sky+ boxes to service existing ones, HD is the new standard box. Existing customers pay either £60 or £30 for install and £10 per month for the HD pack OR £99 for the box, plus install and no HD pack. There's also a new HD box out called 1TB @ £250, looks cool and I think it's 3D ready too.

the sky+ pack was the norm when they stopped charging extra for the + bit of the subs when the HD package came online

all good news if they are dishing out bigger capacity boxes, just make sure you can back up the recorded programs if ever the box goes tits up, still trying to figure out who can swap recorded maretials over but had had no luck

can't even register on the av forums site
