would this stop the car from starting. just got my s1 and it aint going. the guy had running issues with it, it was missing. he put plugs, leads cap etc, no difference. then there was no fuel getting up to her so a fuel pump was fitted.

car started and ran fine, then started missing again, now she wont go/

whats the usual symptoms of a faulty metering unit?

i cracked the fuel pipes at the top of the unit and wound it over, not much fuel squirting out, i wound have thought it would spray out?

 

cleaned the spark plugs, they were new and as black as feck. she started, missed on idle but revved ok at 10am, went a 12.30 and struggled to start then she missed on idle and during revs. 3pm wouldnt start again, plugs soaked and black again. over fueling to death,

was at work and could only go out in t breaks and lunch. wanted to take her home the day and take the s2 down to get her tested.

not towing her in the snow thats for sure!!
