evo for everyday and the cossie for weekends and the shows and stuff, hopefully the escort will hold its money better too if you look after it.

Deffo the evo for me.

The only trouble you will have is you might get fed up washing/polishing it - they just dont go wrong and thats all there is to do

If there is a downside it would be fuel consumption with the evo but you dont buy either of these cars if you worry about that kind of thing.

Evo using your head, Cossie with your heart. Ultimately drive them both first

i would,nt say the EVO is heavy on fuel,a lot of the time its that you are forever in the petrol station, because the tank is TINY

EVO,better car alround i would say,as for future value, more than likely the escort will hold its value better

cheers

Being slightly biast, cossie everytime. Not taking away anything from the evo, as its a newer, and so obviosley better car. If you need to ask this question, go with the evo, because most cossie owners own one because they want one.

cossie any day! own a escort cossie, took out an evo for a test drive, just to see what the competition was like and found it sluggish 1st to 2nd picks up on 3rd. get more looks with the cossie plus thumbs up, not really a second look with the evo! however my cossie is not standard

Why is everyone making out as if the VI is bulletproof? It isn't! Ok you probably wont get engine failures but things do go wrong with them and when they do it costs bucks to set right! I suggest you do a bit more research my friend

Like what? Do you reckon they're more unreliable than fords?

The TME is the only nice looking evo 6 - im not a fan of the standard models front bumper and massive fogs. Obviously jap is more reliable, but also more expensive to maintain. I remember a guy laughin as i needed 2 wheel bearing for the turbo giving it "thoses fords always break blah blahblah" he needed one the next month for an integra type R - £180 lol!

Escos don't have engine failures properly speaking neither, they have electrical probs or sensors breaking, but mechanically, the engine is rock solid

I had this decision and my choice is obvious. I have owned the car for just over a year now and have done over 10,000miles. The only failure, which caused some problems finding was a temprimental crank pos sensor (£28). The car has also done a trip to the ring and a track day at bedford.

Buy a well looked after one and you'll be fine.

I've done some handling mods too which make it awesome to drive

ive been fortunate to own both, i had an evoV last year, brilliant car, but very dear to service, £135 to replace diff and gearbox oils (gearbox needs a special tool to drain it, suprise suprise!!)
it handles superbly, even better with a set of eibach springs
the only thing that went wrong was the plastic chamber on top of the rad split, £380 + vat for a new fookin rad, and i tried everywhere
parts are expensive, if you get one, dont prang the front end, wings are £200 second hand!!
cossies are great, the looks are fantastic, and they are cheaper to look after

Honest answer yes no yes no errrrr

main resons for sale

1 lost over £7k in just over 2 years ( If i sold the escort tomoro i would get back what i paid it for)

2 They are no longer a Rare car and also pepole get them confused with Scoobys

3 We have a 350Z on order for march the 1st

4 and this is only recent ( last week) we have had the police around twice now telling us to remove the car from the drive as they have "information" that it was being targeted to be stolen !!!!

to sum up the evo is Better in lots of ways then the Escort but at the end of the day the Escort Was the car you always dream about having but never thought you would have. The Evo is more like a wet dream nice while it lasted but the real thing is better
