Focus TDCi - lowering
I've got a 2007 focus TDCi and have got 225/45/17's on the car.
Am thinking of lowering it, but am a total newb when it comes to lowering.
Its kinda tight with these tyres and rims on, no rubbing at all, but has not been lowered at all. Id say there is a couple of inces clearance at the front and back of the tyre near the archs at full lock.
Whats my options here?

The ride was pretty-much unchanged. The only thing I noticed was the first couple of times I got in the car I sort of "fell" into it because the seat was lower than I was expecting!
It took a few weeks for the car to settle down, so anyone getting the springs done on their MK2 focus don't be too disappointed by the amount of the initial drop - it WILL go a bit lower over time.
The wheels I have on my car are the 18" Ford wheels that are standard on a Mondeo ST. I don't know how wide they are but I have 225/40 18 tyres on (Ultrac Sessanta XL tyres).
On another note, I have my 17" wheels for sale - same as the ones in wifiuk's signature above. I have a set of 5, 4 with tyres (I will check the amount of tread at the weekend - they are stored right at the back of my shed! They are all legal though) and a 5th alloy thats never been out the box. One of the alloys that has a tyre on it has a few scratches on one spoke only - thats why I bought the new alloy - but I ended up buying the 18's so it never went on the car.
If anyone is interested then drop me a mail at andy_oob AT hotmail dot com - I am based roughly half-way between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Price negotiable.
