You`ll have to strip it mate and get the rest of the sprite out, turn it off as well and remove the batt until its been cleaned or it could go bang permanently...

What model is it is it one you can pull the covers off easily ?

sorry to say mate its fooked or will be fooked within a month permanently trust me i fix them for a living we dont even bother trying to fix them it causes so many problems, The moment u spill liquid onto electric components they start shorting out with each other eventually it will dry out and leave a mouldy look on the components which causes dry joints to the solder.. BIN IT and get a new one

as above really.. its hard to fix if its been submersed (especially if swiched on while doing so) as it shorts it out or the water ingresses into the boad fucking the conections...
You could try removing the facia and unscrewing everything.. cleaning as you go but my betting is that it is/will be buggered

Well its working fine at the moment! It was totally covered in liquid, it basically soaked thru the bag it was in, so maybe she got off lightly!
