Default any help here is greatly appreciated!

hey,

sorry for the random topic title but wasn't sure where to start with this really so ill go from square one!

Earlier this year i bought myself a second RST escort as a track project and due to being busy i took the buyers word for the state of the car and its condition. Yep you guessed HUGE mistake and i was royally bent over.

The car came with no dizzy, fuel pump had been removed along with all of the boost pipes and intercoolers, no rad all sorts! the car was a shit heap! Now, I broke this car up and made back the value of the car with exterior and interior parts. My mates brother said he wanted the engine for a conversion so i stored the engine away and thought nothing of it. Now he called me today saying that he would not be able to take the engine, i had totally forgot i had it!

Anyway! I have been offered a cheap little Fiesta (A 1992 1.1 pop shit box) which i am hoping to pick up and use as a track project, I have a potential engine sat in my garage so that's a huge tick on my list! Now i appreciate that a lot of you on here will have no interest in any RST converted cars but i a just after a few pointers as to what i need to do with the loom as i do not have a clue!

I took the whole wiring loom out of my RST, interior, engine and body loom, I just disconnected the loom and pulled it out via the engine bay and put it in a bag so i didnt cut any wires.

I was talking to a friend who spoke to a friend who spoke to a uncles fathers sister and he had a guide to convert a RST loom to a XR2 loom, Now i understand the fueling system is what i need to wire into and alter but even after looking through this guide i don't know what i am meant to be doing!

Should i be taking my RST loom and cutting out the purple relay section and fuel ECU plug section and splicing this into the loom in my Fiesta?

As i say the cars fueling system was not complete when i bought it so i don't know what should go where and the like.

Like i said i appreciate that RST conversions are not to exciting and from the search button it looks like there are a lot of turbo conversion based questions but none seem to answer my question!

So if anyone can tell me what should go where i would be super grateful! i have no problem with mechanical based work on my cars but i cannot figure the electrical side of things for biscuit!

depending on your finances it would be better to fit megasquirt as your management as that takes care of the full engine and runs the fuel pump and is easier to wire in, if your keeping it standard ford you first need to un tape the fiesta loom and trace all wires that go from its engine in to car ecu and remove them, you will have some that go to car for lives, revs etc these for now leave about a foot long as you will be able to re use these. if you un tape the escort loom for the engine bay side to fuse box you will see that all bar 4 wires for the rev counter(green),ke relay power(green/white), fuel pumpswitch(black/red), and earth(brown), go between ecu and a sensor or dizzy and can be laid out and seperated from the lights, horn etc. once you get to this stage i can give you more info and if you do it take pics so i can direct you unless you live in north west, p.s it's easier than it looks if done in simple steps
