Default Omex 600 and loom for S2 EFI 1.9

Hi

Im thinking about scrapping my Gotech EFI unit since no one in Denmark knows how to use Gotech, and it needs a "tune up" instead of the standard map on it.
There is however some people in Denmark who knows about the Omex 600.

I know there are a few S2 EFI 1.9 ltr on Omex setup.

Where do i buy the loom and Omex unit and what would be the prize ??

PS: can i use the Gotech loom on a Omex unit ??

Henrik

Im not too sure on this but at a guess I think the gotech unit has in internal map sensor where the omex would need an external one, also the gotech runs both low and high impedence injectors so you will have to check that your injectors are compatible with the omex. Get in touch with Jamie at jamsport or simon at sitech about your existing gotech. I find it hard to believe that a competant mapper/tuner cannot get to grips with the gotech interface.

Hope this helps matey

onething i would say is if you buy 2nd hand be very careful as i know of a couple of people who have got them pluged them all in and the ECU has been fried. i would say only buy new or of a trusted person.

TBH I cant see why a competent mapper cannot map any management, aside from a few idiosyncrasies exclusive to particular management your still changing the same variables!!
It might be a bit slower and they may need to read up a little but if it starts and runs then the hard work is already done!!

Karl, it's all about each ECU's method of idle control, processor speeds and so on. Some run the car nicer than others. Some tuners get on better with some ECU's than others too.

I always tend to advise to pick your management based on who will tune it. Let them have an input. There are various ECU's we won't touch, but only based on past experiences. There are also some that we do that I know others have given up with.

I know what your saying Christian but if it the car starts, idles, and drives already it's only really the ignition map, fuelling map, and boost control that your going to be playing with (unless it starts and idles really badly), which is pretty generic from the all be it limited number of mangement UI's i've seen, certainly on a simple 8v, single cam, CVH, it shouldnt be that hard?
I do think it's a good idea to see what your tuners prefered management is as you may get a better result using that, but I do also understand that there are some managements that tuners will not touch for various reasons, like MS where there is any possible number of DIY installer faults/problems that you might be up against before you even start

So far, i have not yet found anyone in denmark willing to look at the Gotech unit and modify the map.
And compared to denmark, you have a wast amount of tuners available.
So, with Christian words in mind, i should have thought more about which ECU to use....

Now, as i see it i will need the Omex unit and a map sensor. But what about the loom. Does anyone know where to buy or get one made to fit Omex and a RST 1.9 efi ??

I have an omex 600 fitted to my rst, i just bought a 'flying loom' from omex and built the loom myself with a friend, it just comes with the plug and all the cables coming out of it. Surely there's someone over in Denmark who could build you a loom if you supplied the bits??

I don't think launch control is a feature on the 600, i know you can run anti lag but not sure on launch control.....could be wrong though been a while since i looked at the manual

cabrst

Please do ask him !!

Det ville fandme være guld værd. Jamie siger det stort set ligner de andre, og teorien bag er jo det samme.

rstdave

Probably a silly question, but would the Gotech Loom fit the Omex unit, i am thinking of the connection betwen the ECU and loom ??

Unlikely the ecu plug will fit no....even if it did the conections would no doubt be wired differently. Have a look on omex website, don't think a loom plug or flying loom will be that expensve but you'll need the loom plugs/relays etc as well and then someone to build it for you.

Hej henrik ...

Henrik
