Hi all, the drives side door lock in my 2001 fiesta, doesn't like unlocking, it just feels like its locked solid. It'll lock fine, but wont unlock, so I have to use the passenger door. Am I safe to spray some WD40 in it? Also if this doesn't help, how hard is it to re-build/change? And will I need to go to ford for a new one (and no doubt get ripped off in the process)? It's got central locking by key not remote, if this changes anything.
Thanks, Sam.
Thanks, Sam.
These are famous for playing up, but it is normally a battle to open the door after unlocking before it locks itself again!!
I would take the door card off, and see what is binding, very doubtful spraying with wd etc will do anything.
These locks are easy to do though, will no doubt be a dry or partially siezed linkage somewhere in the mech.
