changing the gearbox oil on an RST easy job?
longer driveshaft is easier to remove btw, then ya need a 8mil allen key and then fund the allenkey bol on the fron of the gearbox and refill
, not too fast though !!!!, then wait 30 mins and fill some more ( as the 5th gear needs to fill up with oil
)

get drill .. drill hole into lower casing slowly .. get all oily
.. tap out a thread get bolt and refit .. refill with some oil .. allow to settle .. remove bolt .. get oily again .. all swarf etc should come out .. refill and off you go ..
well thats what i did and it worked ... the theory was that the ally swarf is alot softer than the large metal gears
just remember i aint no tecnical person

These boxes do have a drain plug.
Its a stud about 60mm long right at the front of the box, i think it sits in the middle of the front mounting bracket.
Remove it and lower the car back down and all the oil will drain out.
Re-fil using the filler plug that is directly above the drain plug.

I have fitted drain plugs to all my gearboxes in the past which does make it extremely easy to empty the oil, i have actually welded a threaded boss onto the casing so that it retains the thickness. To get the oil back in i use a type of 'easy bleed' arrangement and a pumped up lorry tyre. this makes iit very easy and quick to fill
yes there is a drain plug.. however i dont think ALL the oil drains out of the box with this undone.. never done mine any harm.. the box's dont last long enough to warrant an oil change anyway!
