AVATAR
Everyone been telling me that it looks amazing but the plot isnt that great, but apparantly the visuals more than make up for it. Its Ł10 at my local cinema so ive put off going because its alot of money to spend on something im not convinced about, what was your opinion?
Totally loved it. Thought it was visually awesome, and the story, while a bit silly in parts, was entertaining. It's definitely a big screen film, and I'd love to go and watch the 3D version.
I agree, brillaint, the story line was simple, but fuck me visuals were like nothing i have seen.
Would see it again and again

Visually amazing. Totally forgot it was CGI after a few min.
Story was a bit weak. Which is unusual for James Cameron, normally you can really connect with the characters, but I just didn't in this movie for some reason.
Still a top film
I dont understand why the Na'Vi had hair thou when NOTHING in Pandora had hair. And why they whooped like native americans.... hmmm

i watch a hell of a lot of films and im a regular at the cinema. avatar was hailed as being the best there is.
i will say though, although not disappointed by it,it wasnt the best ive seen.dark knight still walks away with it form recent films.
i do think avatar NEEDS to be seen in 3d.it is amazing.the effects are wicked, the colours are visually stunning and the attention to detail in animal movements, and facial expression is superb.
ok so the story isnt the strongest or most fresh but the way its told and acted is great.
you are also gradually immersed into the cgi world,it starts off with alot of "REAL" people etc and gradually bit by bit cameron turns it to complete cgi without you realising.
i may have got more out of the film than others becuase i look at everything, from acting to camera angles to compostion and obviously the effects.

I've not seen it yet, though I was told in work the other day that the plot line is almost identical to pocahontas, e,g new world instead of new land. So that kinda put me off.
I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

sci fi brave heart if u ask me lol watched it in 3d the visuals were amazing bit of a pain tho if you wear glases looked a bit weird witha set of 3d specs infront of my normal 1's lol
Thought it was a bit rubbish tbh.
If the alien bits were completely CGI then that was very impressive... in fact if it was a mix of CGI and real people, that too would be very impressive.
