Default Mark 2 Escort Brake Upgrades

Hi all

New to forum, and looking at helping a mate with a escort project, and we wanted to uprate the brakes, but on a budget.

What are common options, like with the old mantas we used to put carlton twin pot calipers and discs on, but never done anything with escorts.

cheers

John

the favourite one was to use capri vented discs & princess 4 pot calipers but i think you will struggle to find them nowa days so i would go to either hi spec
http://www.hispecbrake.co.uk/ or comp brake http://compbrake.co.uk/shop/index.ph...8a2b1539bc60b5

cheers for info, whats a turbosport big thing?

Also what options if go for 13 Inch minilites, or is that the wrong wheel choice, as like the miniites.

Does anyone know if group for arches fit the four doors?

Finally, does anyone know any good suspension options, again, uprated, but not too dear.

Were looking at a bolt in cage, buckets, etc, but like the Group four llok, and facy a nive 2 1/4 exhaust system (again any pointers appreciated)

Thanks

John

turbosport forum ! theres a big post on there about brakes
if you use cosworth fronts or rears you will need 15" wheels
cheapest option imo for 13" wheels is the wilwood 247mm kit approx Ł450 for the full kit ie discs/calipers/bells and all fittings

try caprisport if your on budget they do 260mm disc kit and sierra calipers to fit inside 13's or 280mm in 15's. 2.8 capri stuff not any better than standard there just vented and compbrake stuff is worse calipers made of spongy cheese or something similar on my 2.8 you could actually c the caliper flexing willwoods fitted now miles better and are dust sealed for road

i'd pop a pair of wilwood 4 pot calipers on, Ł99 each, direct replacement for the standard m16 ones, and they'll clamp onto the standard disc or get the option to take vented discs, so you can stick on a pair of capri drilled n grooved discs for Ł67 from rally design. at least that way everythings brand new. simples

suspension wise id say just a lowering kit on the front and 2" lowering blocks on the rear, for a cheap useable upgrade
